Iowa House Subcommittee Approves State Biodiesel Mandate: A bill that would require all diesel fuel sold in Iowa to contain 5% biodiesel is making its way through the Iowa Legislature.
In addition, Portland is doing an experiment in collecting food waste for large scale compost. In order to keep corn prices from continuing to rise to support subsidies like Iowa’s plan, we need a way to collect household oil/garbage and turn it into ethanol and biodiesel.
