From the NY Times: Crates of whisky and brandy were unearthed this week from beneath an Antarctic hut used by the polar explorer Ernest Shackleton over a century ago. Apparently Mr. Shackleton understood the importance of keeping valuables safe.

Iowa House Subcommittee Approves State Biodiesel Mandate: A bill that would require all diesel fuel sold in Iowa to contain 5% biodiesel is making its way through the Iowa Legislature.

In addition, Portland is doing an experiment in collecting food waste for large scale compost. In order to keep corn prices from continuing to rise to support subsidies like Iowa’s plan, we need a way to collect household oil/garbage and turn it into ethanol and biodiesel.

Lindsay’s truly abusing alcohol now. Lindsay began her performance by taking swigs of vodka direct from the bottle. Then came the pills. Don’t know what brand of vodka, but I’m hoping it was Absolut.

I hate these sort of posts, however it’s necessary to note that the site is being built. Just as we’re perfecting our recipes, this site is also growing with the distillery. It’s got the basic info that it’s had for months. More info is coming, and we’ll be building the site to support that, as well as reflect how we want to look to the world. Stay tuned.
